The Pirosko and Prado families recently had the honor of visiting the Semper Fi Fund Kids’ Camp in Boswell, PA. It was an incredible experience to meet the Mentors and Munchkins whose lives are directly impacted by the foundation’s support. While our kids got a glimpse of the fun activities the campers enjoy throughout the week, the visit was a powerful reminder of why we’re committed to supporting this incredible program.
During our time at the camp, we had the privilege of meeting many dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to bring stability and encouragement to these children’s lives. As luck would have it, our visit coincided with a trip by some members of the Semper Fi Fund’s board. It was inspiring to hear their stories, learn more about their mission, and see how closely it aligns with the goals of our own foundation. The camaraderie and shared purpose made the visit even more meaningful.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all our sponsors and supporters who help make this possible. If you’re interested in visiting the camp to see this amazing work firsthand, please let us know—we’d be thrilled to share the experience with you.
The Semper Fi Fund Kids’ Camp, run by the non-profit Semper Fi Fund, provides children of catastrophically injured or critically ill service members with critical support and tools for success. These children often face challenges and hardships that no child should have to endure alone. The camp fosters confidence and a sense of belonging through peer support from others who understand their unique circumstances.
A key feature of the camp is its mentor program, which pairs each camper with a high school mentor from a military family. These mentors provide guidance and support, committing to stay in touch with their campers throughout the school year to ensure continued encouragement.
In 2013, the TC Open Charitable Foundation partnered with the Semper Fi Fund to bring 62 campers and 62 mentors to Pennsylvania for a life-changing week at the camp. This partnership continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of these exceptional children, offering them hope and support during their most challenging times.
